Arbor Day Celebration
to
Carlton County Historical Society 406 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet, Minnesota 55720
The Carlton County Historical Society invites everyone to celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 29 at 1 p.m. at their museum in Cloquet.
Learn about the history of Arbor Day from Olivia Rengo, Esko High School Senior and Cloquet Jr. Rotarian. As her final speech at the Cloquet Rotary Club, Olivia prepared a Power Point slide show about Arbor Day, which she will share with us at the museum.
Next everyone is invited to bring a poem relating to Arbor Day, since April is National Poetry Month. Bring your favorite tree poem to read. Then free tree seedlings will be handed out for guests to go home and plant on Arbor Day.
This Arbor Day event is the last program complementing the museum's exhibit "Wood City Smokestacks," depicting the history of Cloquet's three big wood products industries, Sappi, Jarden Brands and USG. The exhibit closes at 4 pm on April 30.
After the program, refreshments made from tree products will be served. Regular admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible. For more information call 218-879-1938.
