Four Days Before the Mast

The Carlton County Historical Society welcomes guest speaker Allen Anway to present his program called "Four Days Before the Mast" on Friday, March 27 at 1 p.m. at its museum in Cloquet.

Allen, born and raised in Cloquet and now living in Superior, Wisconsin, will present a PowerPoint program about the story of his family operating a canal boat in England last summer. The boat measured 70 feet in length, 7 feet in width and weighed 25 tons. The photographs in the program are Allen's own creations. His photographs are well known throughout the area and copies of his photo book, Is That An Old Camera?, will be available for sale and signing by the author the day of the program.

After the program, refreshments will be served. Regular admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible. For more information call 218-879-1938.
