The 2013 Gales of November will be in Duluth's Canal Park on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2, with Saturday's main event based at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. What began as a small gathering of divers sharing shipwreck pictures has grown into a two-day celebration of Great Lakes maritime history, shipping and diving. Featured are exhibits, illustrated presentations on history and underwater archaeology and a silent auction of maritime-related items. Gales of November is the main fundraiser for the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA) and helps to maintain and protect the maritime history in the Army Corps of Engineers’ Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center.
