The Douglas County Historical Society’s History Theatre presents its Winter Classic, “Great Expectations.” Based on Charles Dickens’ 1860 novel, the play tells the story of young Pip, an orphan growing up in poverty who becomes the wealthy ward of an unknown benefactor. This year’s Winter Classic will kick off with a fundraiser for History Theater on March 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a VIP preview night and reception that includes a social hour with costumed actors. The performance follows at 7:30. Regular performances continue March 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and March 22 and 29 at 2 p.m. Call 715-392-8449. DCHS History Theatre, 1101 John Ave. Superior.
