The Carlton County Historical Society hosts a "Home for the Holidays" party on Friday, December 4 at 1 p.m. at its museum at 406 Cloquet Avenue in Cloquet, MN.
Visitors can view the newly opened exhibit "Home for the Holidays," featuring military uniforms and memorabilia from veterans who were employed at Northwest Paper Company, Diamond Match and the Wood Conversion Company. The winter exhibit "Wood City Smokestacks" about the history of these three Cloquet wood products industries will also be on view.
At 2 p.m., students from the third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades of Cloquet's Queen of Peace school will entertain us with Christmas songs, led by the school's music director. After the musical program, guided tours of the basement area, not normally open to the public, will be offered. Holiday sale prices will be offered on gifts at the museum's store.
Holiday refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon. Regular admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible.
