John Beargrease Song Cycle: "Crazy Cold Beautiful"

McKnight visiting composer from California, Robin Escher has written a song cycle "Crazy Cold Beautiful" about the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, which will be performed on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais. The Grand Portage “The Stonebridge Singers Drum” will perform at 7 p.m. prior to the Song Cycle performance at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Song cycle composer Eschner is from Sonoma County, Calif. As a 2014 McKnight Visiting Composer with the American Composers Forum, she received a grant that funded her research during the past year.
