The Lake Superior 20/20 Studio Art Tour embarks on its third year with new works and new artists along a 20-mile loop east of Duluth and west of Two Harbors, Minnesota. Artists’ studios will be open for viewing during the height of fall color on Lake Superior’s beautiful North Shore. Visitors can enjoy original art from 20 artists.
The tour offers a variety of artistic talent to peruse: Glass, ceramics, various kinds of painting, woodworking and turning, printmaking, jewelry, Rosemaling, photography and fiber arts round out the work that will be for sale during the tour.
The artists who are taking part are: Ron Benson – glass, Andrew Kringen – wood design, Dawnette Davis – fibers, Jim Sage – glass/forge, Bob Husby – glass/ceramics, Jay Conradi – woodturning, Bruce/Cynthia Lovold – ceramics, Doug Jackson – wood design, Rose Kadera Vastila – ceramic/sculpture, David Gredzens – photography, Sandi Pillsbury Gredzens – painting, Shelley Getten – printmaking/poetry, Valerie Bolen – mosaic, Dave Gilsvik – painting, Michelle Ronning – jewelry, Helen Hartley – sculpture/painting, Bob Mitchell – writing, jewelry, assemblage, Jean Mitchell – painting/jewelry, Kathy O’Rourke – rosemaling, and Barb Lundell – painting.
Refreshments, demonstrations, storytelling, poetry and music are part of the tour. This year, the tour is dedicated to the late Joyce Gow, who passed away this past January. The dates and times are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 19-21 and 26-28. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The tour will be well-marked on Highway 61; look for bright green “eyeglasses” signs.
