Manistique Environmental Education Lab Annual Snowshoe Event
to
Seney National Wildlife Refuge 1674 Refuge Entrance Road, Seney, Michigan 49883
Strap on your snowshoes or skis and help the Manistique Environmental Education Lab celebrate its 20th anniversary and Sixth Annual Snowshoe Event. Beginners and experts alike can snowshoe or break their own cross-country ski paths around the trails at the Manistique Environmental Education Laboratory minutes from downtown Manistique. If you don’t have snowshoes, we have a pair you can borrow. There will be winter activities for families and adults. Snowshoe the trails looking for items on the winter scavenger hunt. Prizes will be awarded to those who complete their sheet. Build a quinzee snow shelter, try your hand at snow painting, make frozen bubbles and huddle around the fire. Remember to dress in layers for comfort. The Environmental Education Laboratory offers trails for exploration year-round. Take U.S. Highway 2 east of Manistique to River Road (County Road 433) and go north. Turn west on Krummich Road, which terminates at the Lab. The snowshoe event is sponsored by the Environmental Education Laboratory Board in cooperation with the Seney National Wildlife Refuge.
