Part of The Spot's Writing Home Series, this unique event provides a chance to dine with author Patty Loew (5:30 p.m., $20, preregistration required). Loew will give a free and public presentation at 7:30 p.m. on community-based research and writing histories that reflect the way Native Peoples remember the past. A member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Loew is the author most recently of Indian Nations of Wisconsin: Histories of Endurance and Renewal and Seventh Generation Earth Ethics.
She is a professor in the Department of Life Science Communication and affiliated with American Indian Studies, the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, and the Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies program.
