The fourth annual Searchmont Music Festival will run September 19 to 21, Friday night through Sunday afternoon at Searchmont Resort, and the hours vary each day. Three stages will host more than 20 different musical acts. Artisans will share and sell their works, and there will be workshops on songwriting and crafts and activities for kids. Opening night attractions are the musical family The O'Schraves, Algoma's swamp-stomp rockabilly band The Wild Turkeys, and the Sault's own R&B-Motown group The Reptiles. The lineup on two stages Saturday include Sudbury's JoPo & The Rize, John Kelly of the band Pagan Mary, and the first Algoma appearance of Canadian country singer-songwriter Ginny McIlmoyle. This year, a new option for transportation will be the Algoma Central Railway passenger train. Organizers are planning a musical ride for Saturday morning, with several area musicians bringing instruments and playing on the hour-long ride. Limited train tickets available. The festival runs from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. September 19, 10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. September 20 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 21. Details are at www.searchmontmusicfestival.com.
