The Sax-Zim Bog has an incredibly diverse spider community, with August being one of the best times to experience spiders. Join us to learn more about these amazing creatures with Larry Weber, author of not 1, but 2 spider based field guides and references. The afternoon will feature a talk, followed by a short walk to showcase what spider diversity is right out your front door!
Larry Weber is a well known naturalist, phenologist, and retired teacher from northern Minnesota. He writes a weekly column on phenology and the goings-on in the natural world for the Duluth News Tribune and is the author of a few different books on the natural world including Spiders of the Northwoods, Butterflies of the Northwoods, In a Patch of Goldenrods, Webwatching: A guide to Webs and the Spiders that make them, and Backyard Almanac: 365 Days of Northern Natural History to name a few!
