Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race

The Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race features 8- and 10-dog professional teams as well as 4- and 6-dog recreational classes, in addition to a 2-3-dog youth class. All the teams leave the start chute at Muskallonge Lake State Park, in one- to two-minute intervals throughout the morning. The teams will run between 17 and 50 miles and finish at the park throughout the afternoon. The race expects to have more than 70 teams competing this year. There is no charge for spectators who have a Michigan State Park passport on their vehicle license. Food and beverage vendors are on site, and bonfires will be going throughout the day.
