The Wonderful World of Woodpeckers
Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center 29270 County Hwy. G, Ashland, Wisconsin 54806
The wildly laughing cry of a pileated woodpecker is a thrill to hear echoing through the forest. Pileateds are keystone species whose population seems to be on the upswing. There is more to these birds—and their smaller cousins—than meets the eye. Emily Stone, Naturalist/Education Director at the Cable Natural History Museum, will share information about the wonderful world of woodpeckers. Sponsored by Chequamegon Audubon Society.
