Musicians have been creating a buzz at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais for a great cause since 2001. The annual, family-friendly event Unplugged XIV and Fundraiser takes place Thursday, Sept. 17 – Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015. The event will include over 12 nationally and internationally recognized performers including two concerts with NPR’s Mountain Stage Radio Show, local brewery tastings and a Folk Artisan Market. Top performers include: Haley Bonar, John Mark Nelson, Charlie Parr, Don Henry, Jon Vezner, and more artists to be determined.
Raise a glass with local Minnesota breweries Fulton Beer and Voyageur Brewing. The breweries are offering beer tastings during the event, and funds raised will go to help support the North House Folk School.
Jam sessions give event attendees an opportunity to join with fellow musicians and create music together.
The Folk Artisan Market features ten artisans who will display their handwork as well as provide an opportunity for event attendees to try their hand at craft in mini courses and/or traditional craft coursework. The market provides a variety of crafts to choose from including jewelry-making and shoemaking and will be free to the public.
