The Walk for Animals & Furry 5K

We’re in a "furry" to save lives! Animal Allies Humane Society is excited to announce the addition of our first ever 5K race to our well-loved Walk for Animals event, happening June 2nd.

The Walk for Animals & Furry 5K Fun Run is the largest pet-friendly Summer event in the Twin Ports. With a focus on fundraising, family entertainment, and saving the lives of homeless pets – this year’s event is expected to attract more than 700 attendees with the addition of our first ever 5K race, The Furry 5K Fun Run.

Hundreds will gather in beautiful Bayfront Festival Park on Saturday, June 2nd under one united mission – providing a second chance for homeless pets. "The Walk for Animals & Furry 5K" is the second largest fundraiser of the year for Animal Allies Humane Society with a fundraising goal this year of $45,000. With a focus on fundraising and raising awareness in support of Animal Allies programs, walkers, runners and fundraisers alike register for the event as individuals or teams to begin collecting donations to help homeless pets.

The Walk for Animals & Furry 5K is free for all – two, and four legged – to attend. There will be dogs and cats in attendance with their human owners and in previous years the Walk has welcomed snakes, chickens, goats and geese! Meet new furry friends! Enjoy music, games, family activities, a bouncy house, climbing wall, food trucks, pet fortune telling, fun pet contests and much more! Prizes are awarded to the top fundraisers and winners of our silly pet contests.
