Winter Moonrise Photography Two-Day Workshop will be offered at Split Rock Lighthouse March 10 and 11. In a setting of unsurpassed beauty, discover new ways to create stunning images and learn how the pros take photos with impact. Through classroom and hands-on learning, this two-day workshop will teach participants about their camera, proper photographic technique, lens selection, filtration, white balance, camera mode selection, auto focus and manual focus, how to achieve the sharpest image and much more. Classroom instruction will be in the visitor center and field shoots will be near the lighthouse.This workshop is taught by North Shore photographer John Gregor and Split Rock Lighthouse site manager Lee Radzak. John Gregor lives near Two Harbors where he owns and operates ColdSnap Photography which provides commercial photography and photographic workshops along the North Shore, Minnesota, the Midwest and beyond. Lee Radzak became the resident site manager at Split Rock Lighthouse in 1982 and has been capturing images of the historic site and its surroundings ever since.Participants must bring a digital camera capable of exposure control and a tripod. Workshop hours maximize the rising of the full moon over Split Rock Lighthouse. The workshop runs from noon to 7 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $199.
