New Bike Trail Coming to Copper Harbor
The Copper Harbor Trails Club won a $33,333 prize last week to build a new mountain bike trail in the Keweenaw.
The Copper Harbor Trails Club was one of three winners nationally to receive a combined $100,000 in trail building assistance. The trail, called Overflow, will start about a third of the way up Brockway Mountain, ending near the bottom on M-26 where an existing trail comes up.
The contest was sponsored by Bell Helmets and the International Mountain Bicycling Association. Winners were decided by popular vote; Copper Harbor nabbed a whopping 42 percent in the downhill category.
