Paul L. Hayden, Lake Superior Magazine's publisher
Welcome to the New Lake Superior.com
For those of you who regularly visit us at LakeSuperior.com, you're finding this to be a new design and approach to our long-standing website. We've worked for quite a while to bring our offerings up to date in a world that is constantly changing, demanding that we all "keep up." We haven't finished updating our sites, so we hope that you'll take a look, offer your comments, buy our products and return often. We will offer updates more often, not just content from the printed Lake Superior Magazine, but also fresh content and, we hope, sharings from our visitors.
We realize that, as with any transition, not everyone will be happy with all the changes. Not everything made it across from the old site to the new one. And, for a while, the normal search functions will not be up to par, but that will correct itself quickly. We apologize if one of your favorite features or stories may have gone missing. However, I promise that we will try to accommodate any requests to put them back into play. Please don't hesitate to share your ideas.
This will be a growing site. First of all, we hope to find the same support from our partner advertisers that we have for our printed products. We'd certainly appreciate your support of our supporters. Second, we're working with new contributors to bring the Lake Superior point of view to our visitors. And, we're working with our provider Metro Publishers to add additional web features that will make the site even more useful to you. Already you'll find more useful maps when you're trying to find a favorite location.
We really do relish your comments. It's taken us a time to get here, but our new software allows your comments on practically every page. As the publisher, I want to know what you like and don't like, and what you'd like us to add. Some things we'll be able to do quickly, some a bit slower, but we'll try to address all requests.
In the industry, we traditionally try not to make too much of a redesign. But I felt we should at least say something about our efforts. I hope you enjoy. Thanks.
