Paul L. Hayden, Lake Superior Magazine's publisher
Well, the latest issue of Lake Superior Magazine was mailed on Tuesday and the ever-efficient post office has already put it into the hands of some folks. Most everyone will have it within the next week or so. Over the next few days, we'll be posting a few more stories from the issue on LakeSuperior.com, just to whet the appetite. We hope everyone will want to subscribe, of course. Hey, this is how we pay the bills.
I think you'll agree that Konnie, Bob and Randy have created a spectacular issue. I want to remind everyone that we wouldn't be able to make such a pretty and substantive magazine without the help of our supporting advertisers. We really do have a symbiotic relationship going with readers and advertisers allowing us to do the work we do. We get recommendations and kudos from each, and that's how we decide what we'll be doing. Don't hold back. Let us know what you like and don't like. You can read Konnie's comments about the content of the issue, but suffice it to say, it's another keeper.
On another note, we've not only been busy with the new issue of the magazine, but we've had other projects inundate our shipping room in the past week. We've received our new book A View of the Lake by Beryl Singleton BIssell, which is a wonderful insight into living near the lake. And, our new puzzles came in, two nicely challenging ones with classic images of Lake Superior, one in Minnesota and one in Ontario. But wait, there's more. We now have a placemat of our wonderful Lake Michigan Shipwreck Poster. Follow the links on top to "Shop."
One last toot here. On Wednesday night, the Midwest Independent Book Publishers held their annual awards ceremony and our Lake Superior: The Ultimate Guide to the Region took top honors in the travel category. Makes a publisher proud to see our team get another attaboy for their outstanding work. We usually get about two minutes to bask in the glory, then it's on to the next task. But I'll say it again, we have our wonderful readers to thank for their encouragement and support. Thanks.
